📰 Ajani Simmons is an overpaid ghost who is killing the Lanc Show
July 11, 2026
Let’s be real: the Lanc Show is a disaster waiting to happen, and it’s time to stop pretending Ajani Simmons is the superstar this league needs. Sure, he’s putting up 22.4 points and dishing 5.2 assists, but look at the impact. When you compare his presence to someone like Ethan Benne, who is absolutely dominating the floor with 30.6 points and nearly 8 rebounds a night, Simmons looks like a glorified stat-padder. Nobody wants to say it, but Ajani Simmons has been a massive disappointment this season. You can’t claim to be a centerpiece while offering a pathetic 3.4 rebounds a game; it’s an indictment of his lack of grit when the Lanc Show needs it most.
The Lanc Show are in serious trouble and everyone knows it. They are floating in mediocrity because their "star" plays like he’s allergic to the paint. Meanwhile, you have guys like Jared Kumah—who actually works for his numbers—pulling down 12.2 rebounds a game while keeping his scoring efficient. Simmons has the green light, leading the league with 4.4 threes per game, but when the shots don't fall, he provides absolutely nothing else to help his team survive.
This is embarrassing for a franchise that supposedly has championship aspirations. If you’re the primary option, you don't disappear on the glass or let the game drift by you. Either Ajani Simmons needs to evolve into a complete player, or he needs to step aside and let someone who actually cares about winning the possession battle take the wheel. If the Lanc Show don’t find a pulse before the finale, they deserve exactly what’s coming to them: an early exit and a long, quiet offseason.
