📰 Jared Kumah is a liability and the Bullies' biggest anchor holding them back.

July 14, 2026
Nobody wants to say it, but let’s be real: Jared Kumah is a more valuable asset to a championship-caliber roster than the league’s flashier scoring leaders. While the casual fan drools over Ethan Benne’s 30.6 PPG, they’re ignoring the fact that basketball is won on the glass. Kumah is putting up a respectable 20.0 PPG while dominating the boards with a massive 12.2 RPG. Compare that to Benne, who manages a measly 7.8 RPG. You can’t win games if you can’t secure the ball, and Kumah is the engine of the Bullies in a way those high-volume, low-rebound gunners could never dream of. Let’s talk about disappointment. Everyone is obsessed with the raw numbers of Eli Washington, but at 25.0 PPG and only 6.0 RPG, he’s a luxury item on a sinking ship. The Huskies are in serious trouble and everyone knows it, because they lack the interior grit that Kumah provides nightly. When you look at the stat sheet, it’s embarrassing that we prioritize players who offer zero secondary production. Bryam Menendez Goire is another one; he’s averaging 20.0 PPG just like Kumah, but he’s essentially a ghost on the glass with only 4.0 RPG. This is embarrassing for the rest of the league’s "stars." Kumah is doing the heavy lifting in the paint while others just hover around the arc waiting for a pass. Someone on those top-scoring rosters needs to step up or step aside, because come playoff time, finesse doesn't beat force. If you want a highlight reel, go watch the Tropics, but if you actually want to win a ring, you’d take Kumah’s double-double machine over these one-dimensional scorers any day of the week. Facts don't lie, even if the fans do.
