📰 Jordan Tyson is the BAL’s most overrated fraud and a total liability

August 7, 2026
Let’s be real about the "defensive specialist" myth. Jordan Tyson is being touted as a cornerstone for the Cherrypickers, but his 12.2 PPG and 3.6 RPG tell the story of a player who is essentially a ghost on offense. Sure, he’s tied for the league lead with 2.2 SPG, but that’s a classic case of stat-padding for a player who refuses to contribute anything meaningful in the paint or on the glass. The Cherrypickers are in serious trouble, and Tyson’s inability to do anything beyond poking the ball away is a massive liability. Compare that to a workhorse like Jared Kumah of the Bullies, who actually impacts the game by crashing the boards to the tune of 11.0 RPG. Tyson is hovering near the bottom of the statistical food chain while pretending his steals make him a star. Nobody wants to say it, but Tyson is just filling space. If you aren't pulling down boards or facilitating like Justin Baker 2.0—who is actually doing the heavy lifting on that same roster with 9.5 RPG and 5.3 APG—then you’re just dead weight. This is embarrassing for a team that thinks they’re contenders. Jeffrey Espinal of the 8 Balls puts up 20.0 PPG without hiding behind “defensive metrics” to justify his existence on the court. It’s time for Jordan Tyson to stop relying on his highlight-reel reaches and actually learn how to play a complete game. Someone on that roster needs to step up or step aside, because right now, Tyson is the most overrated player in the BAL. If your best contribution is a couple of steals and empty possessions, you’re just a glorified role player pretending to be a hero.
