📰 Luke Rumbaugh is the BAL’s only winner while Benne and Baker rot
August 9, 2026
It’s time to stop coddling the league’s "stars" and look at the actual output. My Power Rankings start and end with Luke Rumbaugh of the Woodpeckers. While everyone else is busy chasing empty stats, Rumbaugh is putting up a rock-solid 21.7 PPG and 5.6 RPG with efficiency that makes his peers look like amateurs. Let’s be real: compared to Justin Baker 2.0, who has the volume but none of the killer instinct, Rumbaugh is the only one playing winning basketball. If you’re building a roster today and choosing someone other than Rumbaugh, you’re playing for the lottery, not the title.
Meanwhile, the bottom of the barrel is rotting. The Tropics are in serious trouble and everyone knows it; Ethan Benne might be averaging 30.4 PPG, but that’s just hollow production on a team going nowhere fast. It’s embarrassing to watch. This is a team sport, and frankly, Benne is just stat-padding while his squad collects dust. Someone on that roster needs to step up or step aside because, right now, they’re nothing more than a glorified layup line for real contenders.
Nobody wants to say it, but the Cherrypickers are a complete fraud of an organization. Relying on Justin Baker 2.0 to carry the load while the rest of the team stands around watching is a recipe for disaster. They are soft, they are undisciplined, and they are essentially wasting space in the BAL. You can look at the leaderboards all you want, but until these teams stop chasing individual honors and start playing like they actually want to win, they belong in the dumpster. The Woodpeckers set the standard; everyone else is just playing a different, inferior game.
