📰 Brad Atkinson is the BAL MVP while Ethan Benne sabotages the Tropics

Let’s be real: the MVP race is a joke if we aren't talking about Brad Atkinson. While everyone else is busy stat-padding or disappearing when the game gets tight, Atkinson is the engine of the Tropics. His 5.8 APG puts him in elite company, tied for the league lead, and he’s doing it with a floor-general maturity that makes the rest of the BAL look like they’re playing pickup in a park. If you want to know who runs this league, look at the guy orchestrating the offense, not the guys launching 30 shots a night just to pad a resume.
Nobody wants to say it, but Ethan Benne is the biggest disappointment of the season. Yes, he’s putting up 30.4 PPG, but look at the Tropics' struggles; it’s hollow production. You’ve got a teammate in Atkinson who actually moves the rock, yet Benne is clearly playing his own brand of basketball. The Tropics are in serious trouble and everyone knows it—you can’t have a high-volume scorer ignoring the league’s most efficient facilitator and expect to hang a banner. It’s embarrassing to watch the chemistry fracture while the rest of the league laughs.
If you’re still clinging to the idea that guys like Jared Kumah or the Cherrypickers' rotation are true MVPs, you’re not watching the game. Kumah grabs boards, sure, but can he elevate his team like Atkinson? Hardly. Someone on the Bullies or the Cherrypickers needs to step up or step aside because, right now, Brad Atkinson is playing a different game entirely. If the BAL voters have any sense of basketball IQ, they’ll stop looking at points-per-game and start looking at who actually makes their team a contender. Atkinson is the MVP, period.
