📰 Crew Wells is the BAL’s only dangerous threat while stars play pretend
August 11, 2026
Let’s be real: while everyone is busy obsessing over the gaudy, empty scoring numbers of the league’s so-called "stars," the real menace is operating in silence. I’m putting Crew Wells on the stand today. With 16.6 PPG and a league-leading 11.2 RPG, Wells is the most dangerous player in the BAL right now. While others are stat-padding, Wells is physically imposing his will on the paint. Jared Kumah is posting 11.0 RPG, but let’s be honest, Kumah’s Bullies are in serious trouble and everyone knows it—his presence doesn't shift the tide the way Wells does for the Huskies.
Nobody wants to say it, but players like Makai Ortiz-Gray are just glorified highlight reels with 2.0 RPG that scream selfishness. Contrast that with Wells, who anchors his entire squad. If you’re looking for a prosecutor’s case for "Most Dangerous," it starts with the guy who controls the glass and dictates the tempo. Jeffrey Espinal might be scoring 20.0 PPG, but he’s a perimeter ghost compared to the fundamental destruction Wells brings to every possession.
This is embarrassing for the rest of the league’s interior defenders. You can talk all you want about flashy guard play, but basketball is won at the rim, and right now, Wells is the sheriff. Someone on the Titans or the Gremlins needs to step up or step aside, because while they play checkers, Crew Wells is playing chess with their playoff hopes. If you aren’t terrified of the Huskies right now, you aren’t paying attention. The verdict is in: the rest of you are just window dressing.
