📰 Jared Kumah is the true MVP while Justin Baker 2.0 embarrasses himself
August 13, 2026
Let’s be real: the MVP conversation is a joke, and if you aren’t looking at Jared Kumah, you’re clearly watching the wrong league. While everyone else is busy chasing highlight-reel fluff, Kumah is doing the actual heavy lifting for the Bullies with 22.8 PPG and a monstrous 11.0 RPG. He is the anchor, the engine, and the only reason the Bullies are even worth discussing. Nobody wants to say it, but the rest of the stat-sheet stuffers are just playing pretend while Kumah dominates the painted area with a level of efficiency that should embarrass the rest of the leaderboard.
Then there’s Justin Baker 2.0. Let’s be honest, Justin Baker 2.0 has been a disappointment this season. Sure, he’s putting up 21.5 PPG and 9.5 RPG, but look at the impact—or lack thereof. He’s supposed to be a centerpiece, yet the Cherrypickers are in serious trouble and everyone knows it. He’s putting up empty numbers while Kumah is actually dictating the flow of the game. Comparing the two is like comparing a luxury sedan to a lawnmower; one gets you where you need to go, the other just makes a lot of noise.
This is embarrassing for the guys who thought they had the MVP trophy locked up by mid-season. If you’re averaging double-digit rebounds and north of 20 points, you shouldn’t have to beg for respect, yet here we are. Someone on these struggling rosters needs to step up or step aside because the current "stars" are wasting our time. Jared Kumah isn't just playing; he’s winning. If the vote was held today and anyone other than Kumah took home the hardware, the BAL might as well fold.
