📰 Evan Baker is a liability dragging the Bullies into the BAL abyss
August 14, 2026
Let’s be real: the Bullies are in serious trouble and everyone knows it. While Jared Kumah is out there putting up a monster 22.8 points and 11.0 rebounds, he is being dragged down by a roster that lacks the killer instinct required to win in the BAL. Nobody wants to say it, but Evan Baker has been a massive disappointment this season. Averaging a mediocre 16.4 points and an invisible 4.3 rebounds, Baker is supposed to be a core piece, yet he’s consistently disappearing when it matters most.
This is embarrassing. When you compare Baker’s pedestrian production to the league’s elite, the gap is glaring. Look at Ajani Simmons, who is dropping 22.3 points and orchestrating his team with 4.9 assists, or Jeffrey Espinal putting up 20 points flat—they are showing up. Baker is hovering at 3.4 made threes per game, but that doesn't excuse his lack of impact elsewhere on the floor. If you aren't the primary engine, you need to be doing the dirty work, and his 4.3 boards just aren't cutting it for a man of his size.
Someone on that Bullies roster needs to step up or step aside before the rest of the league passes them by completely. If Evan Baker wants to stop being viewed as a liability, he needs to find another gear immediately. The stats don't lie, and right now, they scream that Baker is playing comfortable, losing basketball. Time is running out for the Bullies to prove they aren't just a collection of names on a stat sheet, and it starts with their underperforming center getting his head in the game.
