📰 Jared Kumah is the BAL MVP and everyone else is a fraud
August 27, 2026
Nobody wants to say it, but while the media obsesses over flashy scorers like Ty Burton, Jared Kumah is quietly putting the Bullies on his back. Putting up a rock-solid 22.8 PPG and 11.0 RPG, Kumah is doing the dirty work that wins games, yet he’s consistently ignored in MVP conversations. Let’s be real: compared to the inefficient stat-padding we see from other "stars," Kumah’s interior dominance is the only thing keeping the Bullies relevant. This is embarrassing for the rest of the league.
Let’s look at the alternatives. Everyone talks about Ajani Simmons and his 22.3 PPG, but the Lanc Show are in serious trouble and everyone knows it; Simmons is flashy, but he doesn't control the glass or dictate the tempo like Kumah. Then you have players like Jeffrey Espinal, who barely cracks 20 points and offers next to nothing on the boards. If you’re building a franchise, you take Kumah’s 11 rebounds a night over those empty calories every single time.
Someone on those other rosters needs to step up or step aside. It’s pathetic that Kumah isn’t getting the national headlines he deserves while lesser players get shoe deals and highlight reels. The league needs to wake up: Jared Kumah isn't just playing; he’s carrying. If the rest of the league continues to ignore the best two-way force in the BBAL, they’re just proving they don’t know what winning basketball actually looks like.
