π° Devin Atkinson is a pathetic fraud steering the Woodpeckers toward playoff collapse
September 20, 2026
Nobody wants to say it, but the Woodpeckers are masquerading as a contender, and itβs pathetic. Letβs be real: Devin Atkinson is the poster boy for the "good stats, bad impact" syndrome. Sure, heβs putting up 18.3 PPG, 9.3 RPG, and 5.8 APG, but when the lights are brightest, he disappears. While guys like Ty Burton are out there dropping 30.6 PPG and carrying their squads, Devin is just playing fantasy basketball. If heβs your best hope, your playoff run is dead on arrival.
The Woodpeckers are in serious trouble and everyone knows it. You look at the production from Elijah Eberly grabbing 10 boards a night, and you have to ask why they aren't blowing teams out of the water. Instead, they rely on Devin to facilitate, and heβs essentially stagnating the offense. Compare that to Eli Washington, who is putting up similar assist numbers (5.9 APG) but actually drives a winning culture in the postseason. Devin is a luxury player on a team that needs a leader, not another guy chasing triple-doubles in empty gym sessions.
This is embarrassing for a franchise that supposedly has championship pedigree. Someone on that roster needs to step up or step aside because Devin Atkinson is setting them up for a historic collapse. You canβt win rings with a stat-padder who is allergic to closing out games. The Woodpeckers are the most likely team to choke in the playoffs, and when they inevitably fold in the first round, donβt act surprised. Iβve seen this movie before, and it ends with the Woodpeckers watching from the sidelines while real competitors take the trophy.
